Why I Love Sound Healing

In 2021, I was stepping into a new decade and a new chapter of my life, and honestly, I felt a little lost. Although I knew ending my marriage was the right decision, that didn't mean all the emotions that came with it just disappeared. I had to figure out how to sort through everything, and for someone who has a hard time shutting off her brain, that was a real struggle.

One day, I decided to try a sound bath because... why not? I always tell people to try something new. If you don't like it, you don't have to go back.

I won't tell you that class changed my life, because it didn't exactly.

But it did do one thing—it quieted my mind for 40 minutes.

For the first time in a long time, I was present.

Over the next few years, I found myself taking different sound healing classes in Chicago and Asheville, North Carolina. Here's what I learned: I needed those sessions. I needed that time to quiet my mind and regulate my nervous system. They became something I genuinely looked forward to.

Then, in March of 2026, I thought, "Let's get certified... because why not?"

Honestly, that's how I started Pilates too!

That curiosity led me to continue learning. I've had the opportunity to study sound healing in Chicago, Thailand, and Asheville, North Carolina, and I became certified through the Art and Science of Sound program in Edison Park.

What I discovered surprised me. I didn't just enjoy receiving sound baths—I loved playing the bowls. I loved creating sound and holding space for other people to quiet their minds.

And if you're one of those people whose brain never seems to stop... I see you. I get it. (I'm a Gemini Sun—my mind is always going!)

While traveling through Asia in April 2026, I learned even more about sound healing. What really stood out to me was how naturally it was woven into everyday life. They have been using singing bowls for meditation for years. We learned to play the bowls and even experienced the vibrations on our bodies. That was the moment I knew I wanted to share this experience with others.

Pilates has always been the place where I reconnect with my body.

Sound healing has become the place where I reconnect with my mind.

I truly believe we need both.

I hope that when you attend one of my sound healing sessions, you'll simply lie down, breathe, and let the bowls meet you exactly where you are that day. You don't have to do anything. Just let the sound take you where you need to go.

I'm excited to begin sharing this part of my wellness journey with all of you.

Be on the lookout for sound healing sessions coming this fall!

Until next time, be kind to your mind.
